I’m a software developer and tech lead in the field of robotics and software engineering, currently working as Lead Software Architect at Zühlke Engineering.
After receiving my diploma in Mechatronics at the University Magdeburg I joined the robotics department at Fraunhofer IPA in 2008. During that time I worked and managed multiple research projects, such as BRICS and PRACE, and collaborated with companies, such as Bosch, BMW, Willow Garage, Schunk, Kuka and many more on mobile manipulation and robot navigation topics.
One of my main interests is open source software development. So I was very active in the Robot Operating System (ROS) community since 2009 and developed the ROS-focused model driven engineering tool chain BRIDE.
After finishing my doctoral degree in 2015 I continued focussing on close-to-hardware software architectures and agile software development at Roche PVT. My team and I are integrating state-of-the-art technologies and approaches such as ZeroMQ, Protobuf, continuous delivery and container based development into complex software use cases for lab automation.
